Nicole Neil, PhD, RBA(Ont.), BCBA-D, is Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Master of Professional Education in Applied Behaviour Analysis in the Faculty of Education at Western University. Her research focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to supporting autistic children, youth, and their families, including intervention for co-occurring obsessive–compulsive behaviour. Dr. Neil leads and collaborates on funded research examining inclusive education, community inclusion, and developmental disability policy, with a strong emphasis on improving real-world service systems. She has also played a leadership role in the professional regulation of behaviour analysis in Ontario and contributes to initiatives aimed at strengthening accountability, access, and quality in disability services.
Ontario’s autism service system is complex, fragmented, and often difficult to navigate. Improvements are a major challenge because they require whole-system thinking, when most services and supports remain siloed. This presentation will provide a data-informed overview of the current autism service landscape in Ontario.
